CALLING ALL PATRONS AND PERFORMERS WITH KIDS!
We get that seeing theatre can be tough when you have kids While we love raising up the next generation of audience members, the length, subject matter, or venues of shows aren’t appropriate for all ages. That shouldn’t mean that parents can’t enjoy 4 hours of Hamlet. AND there are lots of places, characters, history, or themes in Shakespeare (or Sondheim or Chekov or even Mamet!) that kids do love to explore.
The reverse is true too. Parents may not want to see our latest children’s show and we respect that you need grown-up time, too. So, we created the Share the Show program. During some of our kids’ shows, parents receive a during-the-show-deal with one of our partnering restaurants. And then we get to show up during shows and events at our partnering theatres to create kids’ theatre programs that go along with their productions! In the end, no one gets left at home, and everyone leaves with having a shared arts experience they can discuss on the ride home!
FOR PARENTS: Thanks to the fine folks at Trophy Tap and Table for sponsoring this summer’s A Night at the City of Raleigh Museum with free appetizers for the parents during the show!
FOR KIDS: With the purchase of at least one adult ticket to one of the participating performances, parents may check-in kids in a nearby secure classroom with our fabulous team members. They will enjoy crafts, theatre-games, snacks, stories, and other activities – all centered around the theme of the play. On the way home, you’ll have lots to talk about from your “shared arts experience”. Program fees and age-suitability vary based on individual event and venue. Register now for these upcoming Share the Show programs:
- King Lear Honest Pint/Sweet Tea Shakespeare at William Peace University Sunday, September 24 at 2:00 pm
*Please note – So that we can best prepare for your child’s experience, Share the Show registration will close 24 hours prior to the event.
Actors, designers, musicians and technicians: Want to participate in local theatre but child care is too expensive, complicated, and sometimes just not worth the hassle? Want to do work WITH with your equally talented partner but can’t because someone has to stay home with your precious little ones? We get it! That why we created the “Share the Show” rehearsal care program. Check here for more info on Rehearsal Care. Interested presenters may contact us for booking information.
